I open this blog with a memory of my dearest Guillermo Sepúlveda. I was lucky enough to be there, in 2019, and meet him personally at his house in Monterrey, Mexico.

Back when I started more than fifteen years ago as a gallery owner at Arte Actual Mexicano, I supported myself by buying some works, which meant a lot for someone who was then starting, somewhat late, in the world of painting. What can I say about him, other than that he was one of the first promoters of art and collecting in Mexico, with great sensitivity, who knew the best of art in his country and I have no doubt, he left a great legacy.

His house breathed current art and that of the viceregal period that overwhelms you as soon as you see it, and that some are either very used to it, and do not see it and do not want to recognize it, or that we here from Spain are unaware of its influence throughout the period. Spanish and European baroque.

With Mexico in our memories and in our hearts.
